8th Pay Commission: Hello friends, you must be well aware that crores of central employees are waiting for the formation of the 8th Pay Commission and today a very important good news has come for all of them.
Yes, you are hearing it right, the question asked by two MPs in Lok Sabha regarding the formation of the Eighth Pay Commission is likely to be answered by the Finance Ministry today.
The answer to the questions asked by MPs TR Balu and Anand Bhadoria to the Finance Minister will largely clear the confusion regarding the process of formation of the Eighth Pay Commission. Let us tell you that the monsoon session of Parliament has started on 21 July 2025.
What did the MPs ask the government?
In the Lok Sabha, four big questions have been asked to the government on the Eighth Pay Commission by DM’s MP TR Balu and Samajwadi Party MP Anand Bhadoria. Yes, these questions have been asked to the Finance Minister in the Parliament website on July 1, 2025, listed by the government for oral answer:-
- First question:Â Will there be a notification regarding the formation of the 8th Pay Commission for Central Government employees which was announced in January 2025?
- Second question:-Â If yes, then give the details and if not, then give the reason for not forming the commission after 6 months.
- Third question : – The time limit should be specified by which the appointment of the Chairperson and Members of the 8th Central Pay Commission will be completed with reference to the term of the Commission.
- Fourth Question: – The prescribed time limit should be given when the revised pay scale will be applicable for employees and pensioners.
The salary hike was announced in January?
In January 2025, when the Central Government announced the formation of the 8th Pay Commission, there was a wave of great happiness among the employees. They thought that the process of change in salary and pension would start soon, however, the month of July has arrived and the structure of the commission has not been prepared, nor has the Terms of Reference of the commission been prepared, nor has the chairman or member been appointed.
Will the Commission be able to start work from January 2026?
The biggest question is whether the Eighth Pay Commission can start its work from January 2025 or not? Looking at the slow process so far, this is not considered possible at all. Last time when the Sixth and Seventh Pay Commissions were prepared, they took about 18 to 24 months to submit their report.
After this, it also took time for the government to approve and implement the report. If the Eighth Pay Commission is formed by September 2025, then the report is likely to come in the beginning of 2027.
And the report will be ready in more time, therefore the eyes of the employees are fixed on what answer the government is giving in the Lok Sabha on Monday on the important question related to the Eighth Pay Commission.
