Background of Seventh Pay Commission

Employees outside the purview of Pay Commission
The benefit of the Eighth Pay Commission will not be given to all government employees. Some special categories of employees have been kept out of the directive of the commission and they will not get its benefit. Employees working in public sector undertakings do not belong to it.
Also, employees working in various autonomous institutions are not covered under this. Judges of the High Court and Supreme Court do not come under the purview of the same Pay Commission because the system for their salaries and allowances is different.
Fitment Factor Approximate
In the Eighth Pay Commission, the fitment factor is going to be an important factor through which the salary hike will be determined. According to the report, it is being learnt that the fitment factor is likely to be between 1.92-2.86 this time. It is completely proved that,
So the minimum basic salary of central government employees which is Rs 18000 will increase to Rs 51000. But this has not been officially announced, it is only possible. This can be decided only after the recommendation of the Pay Commission and the approval of the government.
